How much does a website cost for a tradesperson in the UK?

Typical 2026 prices for plumbers, electricians, builders and other trades, what you should get for your money, and the hidden costs to watch for.

Ask five web designers for a price and you will get five very different answers. Here is what tradespeople in the UK typically pay in 2026, and what you should expect for the money.

Typical prices in 2026

These are typical ranges from published UK prices. Your quote will depend on how many pages you need and how much help you want with the writing and Google.

What a tradesperson actually needs

Most trades don’t need a big, complicated site. You need a website that does a few things very well:

  • Works quickly and clearly on a phone.
  • Has a call or WhatsApp button on every page.
  • Lists your services and the towns you cover.
  • Shows photos of real jobs and any accreditations.
  • Has a simple quote form, ideally one that takes photos.
  • Is set up properly on Google, including your Google Business Profile.

For most trades that means a one-page site or a small site of up to five pages.

The hidden costs to check

  • Monthly fees after year one. Introductory prices often go up. Ask what you will pay in year two.
  • Who owns the domain. Make sure your web address is registered in your name, or that you can take it with you.
  • Contracts and exit fees. Some pay-monthly deals lock you in, and you lose the site if you leave.
  • Changes. Check whether updating a price or adding photos is included or charged by the hour.
  • Google set-up. Some cheap websites are never set up properly for Google, so nobody finds them.

Is a cheap website worth it?

A website that brings in one extra job a month usually pays for itself quickly. A cheap site that nobody finds, or that looks untrustworthy on a phone, is money wasted. The key is not the price but whether it is built to get you calls.
